سالار عقیلی درباره این همکاری نوشت:
کودک بودم که با صدای آسمانی استاد ایرج آشنا شدم. در همان سن و سال با خودم فکر می کردم که ایرج بودن چقدر چیز خوبی است. فرصت شنیدن صدای ایرج هم فرصت مغتنمی بود. شاید آن روزها فکرش را هم نمی کردم که چند سال بعد این استاد توانا همچنان روی صحنه بخواند و من هم کنارش بایستم، نه به عنوان شنونده بلکه در قامت خواننده ای همکار.
آوای ایران در کارنامه من می تواند نقطه عطفی باشد؛ جایی که تلاش کردم مقام الگوی سال های کودکی ام را پاس بدارم. همراهی با استاد ایرج در بخش اول کار که همه چشما به ایرانه نام دارد و همنوایی ایشان با قطعه ایران؛ یکی از آثاری است که شخصا بسیار دوستش می دارم.
جا دارد در این فرصت از همه کسانی که برای به ثمر نشستن «آوای ایران» گام برداشتند، سپاسگزاری کنم. این قطعه را به حضورتان تقدیم می کنم.
